Stencil signage system including family of pictograms designed for the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo, Norway. The stencil feature was applied to the client’s institutional font, Akzidenz Grotesk, which we cut across with two thin parallel stripes that run in the centre of the letters. Signs were applied with airbrush directly onto the walls.
We aimed to achieve a clear and strong visual impact which complemented the spirit of the large-scale signs present in the building, designed by London-based architect David Adjaye. The work was commissioned for the opening of the Center in June 2005.
