Identity and stationery for the Museum of Architecture in Buenos Aires (Marq). Inspired by the well-known modular stencil font created by architect Le Corbusier, we chose a stencil typeface for the logo of the museum. In addition to its historical references, the logo has a highly constructive quality and it can be easily adapted to the building’s architecture.
With respect to the letterhead, we decided to print the logo on the back of the pages in such a way that it could reveal itself on the front through the effect of light, which is a crucial architectural element. The back side of a letterhead paper is hardly ever used to print information, but it offered us a perfect opportunity to display the logo in a prominent manner. By placing it on the back side, we gained more open, clean space on the front side, with plenty of empty space to reveal the word “Marq” from the back part.
